New York-Style Cheesecake

 


New York-style cheesecake is a rich and creamy dessert made primarily with cream cheese, eggs, and a touch of sour cream. It's known for its dense texture and slightly tangy flavor, often enjoyed with a crumbly graham cracker crust. Perfect on its own or topped with fruit, it's a decadent treat that's beloved by many. 🍰

Ingredients:

  • 200 g of graham cracker crumbs
  • 100 g of unsalted butter, melted
  • 400 g of cream cheese, softened
  • 100 g of granulated sugar
  • 100g of sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 5 g of vanilla extract
  • 5 g of lemon zest

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Springform pan
  • Electric mixer
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Oven



Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until well mixed.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a springform pan to form the crust.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth using an electric mixer.
  • Add in the granulated sugar, sour cream, vanilla extract, and lemon zest. Mix until well combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  • Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
  • Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for another hour to cool gradually.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
